My apologies for the delay releasing this issue – I completely skipped it by accident. This is one of two that will be released back to back.
Be Very Alert!- By Val Hollard (NZ)

IT’S ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU WEEP!
The Western world, which was based on Judeo-Christian principles, is now in rapid decline and judgment must come. We have gone beyond the point of no return. It is as in the days of Manasseh. There may be short-lived revivals, but even repentance is unlikely to stop the wrath of God coming. The most you can do is to delay it. Jesus foretold us these things would happen 2000 years ago.
The Supreme Court of the US (SCOTUS) has just made an unconstitutional ruling 5-4 in favour of same-sex marriages in all 50 states, even in those which had already decided not to go down that track. Rainbow colours illuminated the north side of the White House and many businesses have applauded the decision, including Visa, MasterCard, Starbucks’s, Kellogg’s, Coca-Cola and Pepsi. In celebration of the ruling, Facebook is offering users a tool to overlay their profile photos with a rainbow filter. Those who don’t colour-up may face harassment.
One of the Supreme Court judges who voted against it, Antonin Scalia, says that it makes the Supreme Court a threat to democracy in the country. He says the way the court ruled means that the nine justices are now essentially in charge of Americans. President Obama is reflecting on his future role when his term finishes. Someone has suggested that he is well-qualified for an appointment to the Supreme Court!
Many churches are supporting the ruling and the Pentagon is now being urged to “cleanse itself” of chaplains who refuse to support gay marriage. Franklin Graham warns that God could bring judgment on America in the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision and Christians should be prepared for persecution.
After the ruling, Obama said Americans need to change their religious views to be accepting of gay marriage. To that end, he encouraged gay marriage supporters to “help” people overcome their deeply-held religious views. A senior EU official has said same sex marriage should be legal across Europe too.
On June 21st, the world celebrated the first UN International Yoga Day. In India, the celebrations have been designated “Hindu religious practices,” which they are. Yoga should not be part of a Christian’s life. In Auckland, Indian Muslims were calling for Muslims to boycott the event because of its association with Hinduism.
The organisers of the Auckland event claim, however, the event is just a community one and has nothing to do with religion but rather celebrates “an ancient and holistic approach to health and well-being.”
Yoga is now taking the Western world by storm. The word ‘yoga’ means to yoke or bind. According to Webster’s New Twentieth Century Dictionary, Yoga is essentially: “a practice involving intense and complete concentration upon something, especially deity, in order to establish identity of consciousness with the object of concentration; it is a mystic and ascetic practice, usually involving the discipline of prescribed postures, controlled breathing, etc.” Yoga is not merely a breathing and relaxation exercise. The practice of it serves as a gateway to Eastern mysticism and occult thinking. People saved out of Hinduism say that Christian yoga is a contradiction in terms. Now Christians are rushing headlong into the occult. It is one of Satan’s deceptions to draw Christians away from God in these last days.
Pope Francis in the news: The pope has very much shifted from religious issues to defending the “Pagan Gaia Faith.” The pope is now described as the world’s prime global warming/climate change activist. In a recent encyclical, the opening line reads: “Praise be to you, my Lord, through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us, and who produces various fruit with coloured flowers and herbs.” He also said everything is related, woven together by the love God has for each of his creatures and which also unites us in fond affection with brother sun, sister moon, brother river and mother earth. How can Catholics tolerate this totally pagan, earth-worshipping pope? He has his critics fuming!
You have all probably heard of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) and some of you may have attended their Feast of Tabernacles celebration in Jerusalem. I was rather astonished to see that Cindy Jacobs is to be a speaker at this year’s event. Cindy Jacobs is well-known as a false prophet and high up in the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) which was developed by C Peter Wagner. Wagner lists Dominionism as a function of NAR: “When Jesus came, He brought the kingdom of God and He expects His kingdom-minded people to take whatever action is needed to push back the long-standing kingdom of Satan and bring the peace and prosperity of His kingdom here on earth.” Dominionists seek to restore the kingdom of God here on earth before the return of Jesus. At least four of the seven speakers are Dominionists: Cindy Jacobs, Jane Hansen Hoyt, Angus Buchan (Faith Like Potatoes) and Samuel Rodriguez.
After Orthodox Jews accused Christians of ‘forced conversions’ at a Christian event in May, the Jerusalem Municipality will now have to consult with the city’s Rabbis before allowing Christians to host events in the city. Such a ruling is unlikely to affect the ICEJ Feast of Tabernacles as ICEJ ignores the Great Commission and has an agreement with Israel that they won’t seek to convert Jews. Also, NAR Dominionists believe the way to gain the kingdom for Christ is to use unbiblical techniques of binding territorial spirits so that towns and cities can be set free.
Euthanasia: Killing people created in the image of God. Early in June, a High Court judge rejected Wellington woman Lecretia Seales’ fight to die on her terms. As a result, New Zealand supporters of voluntary euthanasia have presented a petition to Parliament, calling on lawmakers to renew discussion about the right to die. Individual MPs from the Green, Labour, National and Act parties showed their support. When the petition was presented, a group who oppose euthanasia also gathered. Family First New Zealand director Bob McCoskrie said he was concerned the “right to die” would become a “duty to die” for vulnerable people including the elderly and disabled. Read what is happening in Belgium and in the Netherlands:
A study of euthanasia in Belgium has found the “deliberate” euthanasia of patients without their explicit, voluntary consent as required by law. The author, a professor of philosophy and ethics, found that life-ending drugs were used “with the intention to shorten life and without explicit request” in 1.7 percent of all deaths in Belgium in 2013.
Doctors in the Netherlands have called for terminally ill young children to be given the right to die. Euthanasia is already permitted for terminally ill adult patients but the Dutch Paediatric Association says that existing laws do not go far enough and are calling for the age limit to be scrapped.
Vanishing Christian liberties: In the 1960s, the US Supreme Court made landmark decisions which resulted in Bible reading and prayer being outlawed in public schools. America then spiralled down rapidly into moral decay. Now in Britain PM David Cameron is planning to criminalize fundamental Bible teaching through his new “anti-extremist banning orders.” Both Cameron and British Parliamentary member Theresa May conceded that the orders won’t suppress militant Muslims, only those who oppose values pushed by the government.
Dr Mike Ovey, a former attorney now serving the Church of England’s training school for clergy, believes that even basic Christian tenets, such as the belief that Jesus is the Son of God, could be deemed to be offensive to other religions and branded un-British. Cameron’s orders may suppress religious freedom like never before, despite assurances to the contrary.
In New Zealand, the Secular Education Network (SEN) has the primary goal of removing Religious Instruction, the teaching of religious beliefs as truth, from NZ state primary schools. This would involve the repeal of the NZ Education Act (1964). The Churches Education Commission (CEC) is the provider of Bible studies at more than 660 NZ schools. CEC has headed to the High Court to fight to keep religious studies in our classrooms. Recently, a disagreement arose between a family who believe their daughter was segregated and humiliated after opting out of religious studies at a Whangaparaoa school. The lawyer representing the family is seeking to repeal Section 78 of the Education Act which could lead to religious studies being removed from state schools. The Whangaparaoa school’s programme was not provided by CEC.
IN THE NEWS
The surveillance society: Facial recognition systems are expanding. Facebook and some criminal records now hold vast databases which can be used to identify people in an assortment of situations, including music festivals, stadiums, and even now in churches. Moshe Greenshpan, the CEO of a facial recognition software company claims that there are 30 churches around the world using his Churchix technology to keep track of attendance. Google’s new Photos app is so effective at face recognition that is can now identify now-adults in photos from their childhood.
Google is also reported to have installed software on Chrome browsers which is capable of listening in on conversations held in front of a computer. Some users have claimed that it is activated on computers without their permission. You can opt out, but you need to know you can opt out.
“Moderate Islam” is being increasingly promoted and there is a big push for the acceptance of more refugees into New Zealand which would inevitably lead to us seeing more of radical Islam. While we need to be sympathetic to genuine refugees, we should not accept ones who will not accept our culture and try to change it to suit their beliefs. Already we have aspects of Sharia Law here, including halal foods, prayer rooms, banking, and wife beating without police intervention. Mosques are well-known for spreading radical Islam.
Ramadan began on the 18th of June and will continue for 30 days until Friday the 17th of July. During this time there is often potential unrest and an increase in calls for jihad in order to make the world a global caliphate and to take control of Jerusalem. Muslims are expected to observe strict Islamic observance of Ramadan with no drinking, eating or smoking and other pleasures during the hours of daylight. After dark the feasting begins. According to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights, ISIS has hanged two youths after accusing them of eating during daylight hours in Ramadan. Others have also been killed for this offense.
Francis Ritchie, an ordained Christian minister based at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in east Auckland is taking part in the first two weeks of Ramadan. Ritchie says that there has been recent media hype around a lot of negative events associated with Islam and believes it is time to engage in a different way. He hopes doing Ramadan will help build relationships and understanding between two religions. There are more New Zealanders joining in with these pagan practices.
“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?… What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?… Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord.” (2 Cor 6:14-17)
