There is a cycle of nations in which they rise and fall. When they arrive at a stage of abundance they become complacent, then apathetic followed by dependency and servitude. At the time of the Judges, Israel regularly went through these cycles. The Western nations have reached a stage of great abundance and are now throwing away the very basis of it, Christianity, at a frightening rate. We are heading for servitude.

Warnings were given earlier of a coming migrant crisis to flood Europe, and now it is beginning. According to Israeli Arnon Soffer, a professor of Geography and environmental sciences, specialising in water issues and demography, the real tsunami has not yet arrived.

The UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage has warned that thousands of ISIS jihadists could use the migrant crisis to ‘flood’ into Europe and warned Britons not to ‘allow our compassion to imperil our safety.’ The former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, has also warned against “Muslim mass immigration to Europe.” In the US, Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, wrote on Facebook that the US should bar Muslims from immigrating. Robert Spencer writes, “This is no longer just a ‘refugee crisis.’ This is a hijrah.” Hijrah is the Islamic doctrine of migration, which is a form of stealth jihad. Muslim ‘refugees’ in Hungary have been heard chanting “Allahu Akbar” and been seen throwing faeces at bystanders.

There have been more terror jihad cases in the US in 2015 than in any other year since 9/11. Too many Christians see Muslims as people to make peace with, not to share the Gospel with. Interfaith initiatives are on the rise. Franklin Graham has come under fire for his comments. One of his critics is organising the first ever international conference of imams and evangelical pastors on October 22 at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, Maryland, to strengthen ties between the groups. This is another case of stealth Jihad as Muslims pretend to make peace with Christians until they have the upper hand. Read 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 to see what the Bible has to say about this. Confounding the matter is that many Christians believe that Christians and Muslims worship the same God.

As Christianity declines, Muslims are buying up churches in increasing numbers and converting them into mosques. This means that Islam is rapidly heading toward becoming the dominant religion in the West.

There is now great pressure on Western nations to take in 1000s more of the Syrian refugees. As Christians, we should do all we can to help Syrian Christians as they along with us form the body of Christ. And if one part suffers, the rest should feel it too. It is heartening to see that more and more countries have abandoned the famous policy of political correctness in recent days, and admit unabashedly that they are willing to take in only Christian refugees, not Muslims, even though they are likely to be labelled Islamophobes.

If Muslim refugees are forced on us, we should see it as a mission field and a great opportunity to reach those who may have never heard the Gospel before. It will be a testing time for the Church. At a church in Berlin, Muslim refugees are converting in droves. Although there are many genuine conversions, many others are faking their belief as that decision will also greatly boost their chances of winning asylum by allowing them to claim they would face persecution if sent home.

There is a preponderance of men seeking refugee status in Europe. After seeing the rage and total lack of humility of some who were held up in Hungary, there are definitely people seeking refuge who would not be a blessing to any country. Many say they should go back and fight for their country. Alas, there is no good army they could join. The Americans back a ‘moderate’ Muslim group and the men in it often become radical or fail to turn up for training. It has been unsuccessful so far.

It is at a time like this that I am drawn again to the little book of Habakkuk. In chapter 1, Habakkuk cries out to God and complains about all the moral corruption and the failure of the judicial system he is seeing in Israel. Evil is prevailing and God doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it. It was a time of great spiritual decline in Israel. We are seeing all this again today, in both the church and the nation as a whole. Christians are turning away from God’s law as the basis of truth.

Habakkuk says he’s been praying but God isn’t doing anything. We hear calls for revivals and for repentance for individuals and for nations, but nothing is happening. Habakkuk wonders why God is allowing all this and not listening.

God answers Habakkuk and tells him he is doing something amazing but it is not what Habakkuk expects. He is raising up the Babylonians to come and chasten His people. You can substitute Islam for Babylonians here. This astounds Habakkuk. How could God use people who are far more corrupt to bring judgment! How could He prosper such idolaters and pagans and allow them to have the victory? How can God allow such corrupt people as ISIS to terrify and take over countries?

Habakkuk teaches us that God will use evil in His own way. Eventually God will judge all evil and bring His glory to pass. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab 2:14)

God eventually replies to Habakkuk, and tells him that though God is bringing the Babylonians as a judgement on Israel, that is just a pattern for the last days. (2:3)

The important message is that we should live by faith and trust God. (Hab 2:4) The righteous will triumph. As a result, Habakkuk goes from worry to worship, and that is what we should do too. Habakkuk wrestled with serious problems and came through victorious, praising God. (Hab 3:18-19)

Several prominent pretrib prophecy teachers and preachers are now vigorously mocking the whole idea of a prewrath/intra-seal rapture and in the process are revealing how little they know about this teaching. A recent case is a talk by David James at the Berean Call conference.

Alan Kurschner has been in touch with David James on a number of occasions and sent him a copy of his book but James said he has not read it. He clearly does not understand what prewrath teaches judging by his attempt to answer when questioned by a Conference attendee. These are some of Kurschner’s comments:

He (James) says the prewrath view is a “modified mid-trib” rapture. It is not. And he does not explain how exactly it is a “modified mid-trib” rapture.

He says that prewrath teaches the rapture will happen before (!) the great tribulation. Again, complete misrepresentation. Prewrath teaches the rapture will happen after the great tribulation (begins).

He said he thought maybe prewrath teaches that the wrath of God begins at the midpoint or maybe “post” mid. This is the most fundamental tenet of prewrath and he does not even know what prewrath teaches on this. The day of the Lord’s wrath will begin sometime during the second half of the seven year period immediately after the rapture. We do not know the day or hour. The wrath of God does not begin at the midpoint.

The Berean Call is noted for its strong stand against false teaching. But if its associates are not prepared to find out for themselves exactly what prewrath is then they should stop speaking out against it.

The pope has recently blessed lesbian authors for their “excellent Christian values.” Lesbian author Francesca Pardi, who writes and publishes books such as Why you have two mummies, wrote to Francis after the publishing company she runs with her wife came under fire from Christian groups. She included examples of her works, some of which have recently been controversially withdrawn from nurseries and primary schools by a new mayor in Venice. In his message, the pope wished the two women “ever more fruitful work in the service of young generations and in spreading authentic human and Christian values.” Many hard-line traditionalists in the Catholic Church are becoming increasingly alarmed by the pope’s stance on various issues.

On September 25th the pope will address the UN General Assembly in New York where he is expected to unveil the Post 2015 Sustainable Development Agenda which is referred to by many as the New World Order plan. In the words of someone, “This is primarily showing to be a great humanitarian plan to bring all the nations together as one and to stop poverty, famine and unite all of humanity.”

A Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis, was jailed for a few days without bail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples following the US Supreme Court legalisation of same-sex marriage nationwide in June. She was sued in a federal court in the first lawsuit of its kind in the country. Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee says, “Kim Davis in federal custody removes all doubts about the criminalization of Christianity in this country.”

A Manchester Councillor in the UK says that preachers are wrong to talk about morality in the open air and to make their hearers feel ‘insecure’ with their preaching. Pat Kearney said the city would target street preachers who authorities feel project their voice too much or discuss issues that some members of the public may find offensive. “They’re perfectly entitled to talk about Jesus and the word of God, but not to make anyone feel insecure or threatened,” Karney stated.

An all-women’s choir called “Voices From the Heart” performed at Clinton’s Portsmouth, New Hampshire rally. They serenaded her with an old gospel tune, “Woke Up This Morning (With My Mind on Jesus).” Except in this version, from the self-dubbed “woman’s alternative chorus,” “Jesus” is replaced with “Hillary.”

Roger Oakland’s top 10 ways the body of Christ is presently being led astray:

  1. Ecumenical unity at any cost yet completely void of any connection to the message that Jesus died on the Cross.
  2. The church-growth movement, which is focused on a market-driven seeker-friendly Christianity emphasizing a megachurch mentality.
  3. A Christianity focused on following men, their methods, and their movements.
  4. A Jesuit agenda promoted by publishers and pastors proclaiming the teachings and ideas of Roman Catholic church fathers and Roman Catholic mystics.
  5. The rejection of biblical creation and the acceptance of theistic evolution and progressive creation.
  6. The acceptance of New Age ancient Babylonian practices such as yoga and contemplative prayer as a means of “getting closer to Jesus.”
  7. A false Christianity that substitutes the gospel according to the Scriptures with a social gospel.
  8. The “Purpose-driven P.E.A.C.E. Plan” that prepares the church for a global one-world religion.
  9. An experience-based “Christianity” that seeks after signs and wonders and rejects the biblical warnings of a Last Days spiritual deception found in the Bible.
  10. The compromising of the church in order to become “postmodern” and “progressive” in an attempt to reach the postmodern generation.
