On Watch at the Door.                                                                           No 208, November 24, 2015

Apologies for the delay in release. I’ve been away from home on a short term mission for the past two weeks. Thanks for understanding.

What has happened in Paris is without doubt a tragedy of great proportions, but also one that was waiting to happen. Unfortunately it is just the tip of the iceberg and more will follow as Qur’an-abiding Islam spreads.

ISIS has accepted responsibility, and two of the jihadists were recent “refugees” with (fake, I believe) Syrian passports. ISIS claims to have planted 400 of their operatives in Europe along with refugees. This does not take into account the thousands of Europeans who have fought in Iraq and Syria for ISIS and then returned home and other home-grown ISIS supporters.

The comments from around the world make interesting reading. Obama refuses to call ISIS Islamist, saying that they have “twisted theology.” Perhaps he has never read the Qur’an because what they are doing is exactly what the Qur’an teaches. Another group suspects that Israel might be responsible. Others say it is because Muhammad has been insulted. Islamic organisations are saying, deceitfully, that Islam is peaceful. And so it continues.

France has responded by making massive air strikes on ISIS targets in Syria. But will this help? ISIS has already spread through Europe. If we look at what God says in His Word, we can get a good idea of why Europe is in crisis. We are instructed to learn from what is in the Old Testament. There are two obvious Scriptures. One is in Genesis 12 where God says to Abram, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse.” And in Obadiah, “The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head.” What has France, and indeed Europe, been doing to Israel to deserve all that is befalling them now? God is in effect saying, if you don’t bless Israel you will be cursed. If you try and force Israel to hand over her land to Muslims, I’ll put Muslims in your land. If you try and destroy Israel’s economy with boycotts, I’ll destroy your economy. If you force Israel to divide, I’ll divide Europe. Indeed, the borders that Europe did away with are now being rapidly replaced, and there will be a huge economic burden on Europe to provide for the “refugees,” most of who aren’t interested in working and just want benefits.

Applying a double standard to Israel

The European Union’s executive has just approved new guidelines for labelling products from Israeli settlements on “territories occupied by Israel since June 1967.” According to the guidelines published, the labels will need to point out that the product is made in an Israeli settlement, and not just the geographical origin. The move, which will also apply to the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem, underscores the EU’s unhappiness over Israel’s continued expansion of settlements on territory that Palestinians are seeking for a future state.

There has been a swift response from both the right and left in Israel and a strongly worded criticism against the EU. The government likened the move to a boycott and Members of Knesset saying it amounted to anti-Semitism. The Foreign Ministry warned the plan could affect ties and in a statement accused Brussels of applying a double standard to Israel “while ignoring 200 other territorial disputes around the world.” Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister says, “We see it as a boycott of Israel for all intents and purposes. We view it as a slippery slope. It’s simply a sweeping disqualification of Israel.”

Many senior European diplomats insist that the labelling move is not a boycott of Israel. Goods from the settlements will continue to be sold and allowed into the EU market. Britain instituted guidelines for labelling settlement products in 2009, followed by Denmark in 2012 and Belgium last year. After labelling was instituted, major retailers in the three countries adopted a policy of not importing products from settlements. The final outcome will likely see all Israeli products boycotted.

The closer we get to the Tribulation, the faster everything speeds up. At the first coming of Jesus, a few prophecies were fulfilled at His birth. Then there was a gap until John the Baptist, and then many more prophecies began to be fulfilled. But most were fulfilled in the last 7 days. It is the same now.

A few prophecies were fulfilled when Israel became a nation in 1948. Now there is a sudden explosion, and it is not just the rise and spread of Islam, but also apostasy in the church, militant sexual perversion, and violence. Ten years ago we probably would have been astounded to see the president of the US featured on the cover of an LGBT publication. Now Obama has been featured as LGBT OUT magazine’s Ally of the Year” for 2015, and transgender Caitlyn Jenner accept Glamour magazine’s “Woman of the Year” award. Chaos is coming!

One area that is exploding before our eyes is support for Chrislam. A survey by LifeWay Research of 1,000 Protestant pastors in America has shown that more pastors are calling Chrislam, a mixture of Christianity and Islam, spiritually good. Five years ago nine percent said there were similarities between Christianity and Islam but this has now grown to 17 percent who say the two religions share common ground.

Even those who believe there are significant differences are looking at Islam in a more respectable light. Despite daily accounts of Christians being murdered for their faith, and laws in Muslim countries that make it illegal to convert a person from Islam, 24 percent of pastors now say Islam is tolerant of other faiths. Only 52 percent consider Islam dangerous. A great deception is coming!

“We will not stop hunting Christians and burning churches. Christians are Allah’s enemies!” – Islamic leaders, Aceh region. Indonesia boasts the world’s largest Muslim population. About 240,000,000 people live there and about 10 percent of them are Christian. Traditionally, Indonesia has been regarded as the face of “moderate Islam”, but that is changing rapidly. Hundreds have gone to the Middle East to join up with ISIS, which they see as the purest application of Islamic law.

Raymond Ibrahim has undertaken a report on the situation in Indonesia. In the Aceh region, authorities have started tearing down Christian churches. Muslim mobs have rampaged and attacked churches and thousands of Christians have been displaced. The situation in Aceh remains very tense for Christians. More than 1,000 churches have been shut there since 2006.

Even in parts of Indonesia where Sharia Law is not enforced, fully registered churches are under attack. Imams have issued text messages spurring Muslims from other areas to rise up against churches and call for their demolition. On October 12, authorities facilitated a meeting with Islamic leaders and agreed to demolish 10 unregistered churches. However, mobs, some armed with axes and machetes, took things into their own hands and torched a local church. Then they moved on to a second church resulting in violent clashes as Christians tried to defend their church against the mob. About 8,000 Christians ended up fleeing to bordering provinces. Here, they are in desperate need of clean water, food, clothing, medicines, etc. Border guards have instructions to kill any Christians crossing the line so that reaching them to bring help is difficult.

Ibrahim says, “The Indonesian jihad is taking place in varying degrees all throughout the East Asian nation and is not limited to Sharia-compliant zones such as Aceh. For the country once hailed as the face of “moderate Islam,” the “extremist” behaviour one would expect of the Islamic State (ISIS) – hating, attacking, and demolishing churches – has apparently become the norm.”

On Boxing Day, 26th December 2004, a massive earthquake of magnitude 9 followed by a deadly tsunami struck the Indian Ocean. At least 230,000 people died. The epicentre was off the west coast of Indonesia. More than $14 billion was provided in humanitarian aid. Indonesia is also a hot spot on the Ring of Fire, experiencing frequent volcanic activity. It is not uncommon for New Zealanders and Australians to experience cancelled flights to Bali due to this activity.

We have just seen how God can use an influx of Muslims as a judgment on nations who seek to divide Israel and boycott its goods instead of blessing Israel. NZ, currently on the UN Security Council and pushing hardest along with France to divide Israel, is placing itself in a prime position for God’s judgment. Let us pray that earthquakes and volcanic activity in Indonesia do not send radical Muslims, desperate for a safe place to live, and supported by the UN, to our shores.

The International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde says that the fast growing Sharia-compliant Islamic finance industry has the potential to promote financial stability because of its risk-sharing and asset-backed features. Lagarde said Islamic assets have crossed the $2 trillion mark and have the potential to grow much larger. Around 40 million of the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims are clients of the Islamic finance industry. Kuwait’s Central Bank governor Mohammad al-Hashel says Islamic finance can offer a system based on strong principles and social justice, “A system, which if implemented in its true spirit, will bolster growth, create jobs, reduce poverty and address inequality.” Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch warns that Sharia finance would ban dealing in anything not approved by Sharia.

The Freedom Diaries is a No. 1 Best Seller in New Zealand. I have listened to a CD of Mark speaking. Here I do not want to judge him in any way, but I have doctrinal concerns which we are to judge. Mark describes how he has lengthy conversations with God just as friends might. Then he encourages people to try his technique too.

When I was a new Christian I was drastically underweight, and as I started putting on weight I got compulsive about leaping on to the scales to watch the progress. Really compulsive! I cried out to God for His help and heard a little voice deep down within me say, “Shift the scales!” I was stunned and awed!

I do not find anything in the Bible that says that in the last days people will be having long conversations with people about all sorts of “stuff.” We are instructed to commit our lives in every way to the Lord, and He will make our paths straight. To know God’s perfect and acceptable will we are to study His Word.

I think of how people responded when God spoke to them in the biblical times. People were awed and humbled. They did not have long chatty conversations with God. They felt unworthy before the Almighty. Remember how God spoke to Job.

We can certainly ask God questions, but He answers in His own time and in His own way. Mark recommends you write a question to God, and help Him out by starting the answer. This is trying to manipulate God. In these last days, many Christians are seeking experiences instead of trusting in what the Word says. They have itching ears and have become very man-centred. (4 Tim 4) Many seem to lack the faith to trust God and be led by His Spirit.

It concerns me that listeners, especially those who aren’t born again, may try this technique and not hear from God but from their own imagination, or worse from demonic entities. Mark gave no warnings. How about those who don’t hear anything from God? Will they question their faith? Much discernment is needed!

The suicide of Europe:

Sharia showdown looms in Brussels. This is from 2012. How much worse today? The search is still on for one of the Paris jihadi in Brussels, where further attacks are planned.
Belgium has now raised it’s terror alert to the highest level in the capital Brussels which is in lockdown.
Obama seems to admit again that he is a Muslim:
