Unmolested 35mm Copy of Star Wars: A New Hope Restored, Then Released Online

According to Digital Trends, a group of people calling themselves Team Negative 1 has spent time, and a significant amount of money to restore an unmolested reel of the 1977 release of Star Wars: A New Hope; then released it online.

We won’t be pointing you to the film’s internet address either, but will say that it can be watched online.

“We know that anyone under 30 kind of prefers the clean, sharp, detailed look”, Team Negative 1 said in an interview with Movie Mezzanine about the project. “Then the older crowd, the retro crowd, is like, ‘give me the grain and give me the matte boxes and give me a little weave in the picture.’ It’s kind of like CD vs. vinyl.”

While we don’t condone the use of piracy, the fact that this treatment exists is quite remarkable. Who’s to say they won’t find a copy of Empire Strikes Back?

Ft. Lauderdale Shooter To Have 1st Appearance Today

Esteban Santiago is scheduled to appear in court today for the charges rendered against him in the shooting at Ft. Lauderdale International Airport on Friday. 5 people were killed,  6 injured with 2 still in critical condition.

Santiago was quoted as saying that he had had contact with the FIB saying that he was hearing voices telling him to kill people in the name of ISIS. And, had checked himself into a hospital for treatment for his issues.

Santiago was honorably discharged from the National Guard, and had legally obtained the firearm used in the shooting. It was also packed legally, in checked baggage, and was removed, and loaded from his suitcase just before he walked out of the restroom and started firing.

While this story is still developing,  we don’t know all the answers as of yet. Stay tuned for more information about this as we get more updates.
